Martha White Flour, Flatt & Scruggs and the ‘Rize’ of Bluegrass Music

In June 1953, an unlikely partnership between hillbilly musicians and sophisticated businessmen began a relationship that helped bluegrass music flourish while simultaneously building a mulit-million dollar food brand. This presentation details how Martha White Flour's sponsorship of Flatt & Scruggs, perhaps the world's best-known bluegrass band, turned the band and the brand into international icons. Some of this history was broadcast here in Columbus via WRBL-TV! The presentation includes screening Martha White-sponsored television programs, along with other Martha White brand memorabilia.
